Welcome To Moto Mail

Good Morning + Happy Tuesday!

Well folks, the 2024 Monster Energy Supercross Championship is officially a wrap, apparently Dean Wilson isn’t retiring and Kevin Moranz is your 2024 Lucky Dog.

For the 450 Class, The series was all but wrapped as we headed into the final round of supercross as we seen the only other contender for the title, Cooper Webb, reveal he has a torn ligament in his thumb that has only gotten worse. Jettson was cruise to a 7th place finish securing the championship easily.

Welcome back Chase Sexton! After a season he would probably rather forget about, Chase Sexton locked up his 2nd win of the season in convincing fashion, grabbing a start and never looking back. In the Vital MX Post Race Interview, Sexton hinted he has been working on a new starting technique thus unveiling some wicked holeshots. I hope we get to see these starts once we step into The Great Outdoors.

Justin Cooper had another breakout ride landing on the podium and Cooper Webb would do everything he could and secure a 3rd place. Thankfully there was little drama at the front. However a bit further back in the pack it was a different story.

Jason Anderson and the other Lawrence, Hunter, got into it early leaving Hunter on the ground picking up his bike. A bit less than ideal but Hunter would get a touch of revenge as he held up Anderson later in the race costing his a potential spot on the podium.

As for the 250’s. Well we unfortunately never got to see any real sparks as we had 4 riders going for 2 titles.

On the West, RJ Hampshire v. Levi Kitchen came down to the start as theme of start cross continues. Hampshire would grab a start over Levi and would set said as Levi did everything he could to come through the pack, alas it wasn’t enough and Hampshire would secure his first professional title.

The East Coast had a touch less drama as the Tom Vialle v. Haiden Deegan battle had a bit more points cushion to play with. Deegan would lead wire to wire as Vialle did what he needed to do and secured his first american championship.

We will dig deeper into the season that was in friday’s edition of Moto Mail.

Together With | The Failed Experiment Podcast

THE FAILED EXPERIMENT is a weekly podcast hosted by Southern California based DP/cinematographer, Kyle Cowling, along with a guest.

Each week, in his dining room, Kyle sits down with filmmakers, photographers, musicians, artists, athletes, and individuals from all walks of life to discuss everything from their journey of how they got to where they are today, their goals, accomplishments, failures, mental health, work/life balance and more.

Episode of the week | Stu Alfano | 100% Art Director

Fun fact. After recording this episode with Stu Alfano, he was shortly thereafter promoted to Art Director at 100%. Maybe we need a part two with Stu to talk about the promotion and what the role of an art director entails? Not a bad idea. Anyways, I digress...

Originally a North Carolina native, he eventually made his way out to Southern California (specifically San Diego, CA) to chase an internship opportunity with Nixon. After a summer of beach life in Encinitas, CA and interning at Nixon, Stu made his way back home before again making a full time move to San Diego, CA. This time, with only a one-way ticket, a duffle bag of clothes, and nothing else. Yes, it worked out for him.

We dive into Stu's journey from the east coast to the Whale's Vagina of San Diego, CA (per Ron Burgundy), almost working for a skateboarding company before the opportunity at 100% came about, living on a couch, having no method of transportation, no clothes other then what was packed in his duffle bag, and how he made his dreams and passions a reality despite the struggles that laid in front of him.
